The day before
Here we are, approaching the final chord of the season in our women's club football. The winner of the Premier League and the vice-champion will compete for the Ukrainian Cup trophy.
On the way to the main match of the competition, both rivals easily overcame two previous stages. In the quarterfinals, "Metalist 1925" defeated the capital's "Obolon" (4:0), and in the semifinals, it defeated "Kolos" with the same score. "Vorskla", in turn, first dealt with "Polissya" - 5:0, and then had no problems with "Sisters" - 3:0.
Despite the rich trophy history of both teams, they have only met once in the final - in the 2020/21 season, when "Zhytlobud-2" narrowly defeated "Zhytlobud-1" (1:0).
It should be noted that "Metalist 1925" has won the Cup the most times - 11 times. "Vorskla" has four such victories - consecutively (from 2020-2023).
This season, our grandees met three times within the framework of the Premier League, and all three games ended without goals.

Historical reference: according to the data of the All-Ukrainian Association of Women's Football, the women's team "Vorskla" was created in 2021. Although even before that, the Poltava club began to cooperate with the Kharkiv "Zhytlobud-2", as with its own women's team. And already at the start of the 22/23 season, the Kharkiv women's football club finally transformed into the women's team of Poltava's "Vorskla", which became the legal successor of "Zhytlobud-2", preserving the previous championship titles. Hence, "Vorskla" currently has 6 championship titles and 4 Ukrainian Cups.
