Nataliia Zinchenko: "Right now, a challenging and interesting task for me"

Head coach of the women's football club "Metalist 1925" Natalia Zinchenko shared about her arrival to the team, summed up the first stage of preparation, and shared expectations for the new season:

— You were without a club for some time, and now you are with "Metalist 1925". How did this reunion happen?

— I haven't been out of work for long — just a year. For me, this time flew by very quickly. It's a challenging and interesting opportunity for me now. The priority was that this is the team from Kharkiv — many people from the team and club management are from there. When they called me, I didn't think for long and quickly agreed.

— What are your first impressions of the team and the club?

— I know most of the girls, as some of them played for "Zhytlobud-2," "Vorskla," and the Ukrainian national team. I really like that everything here is at a high level. Excellent conditions. The management does everything so that the players only think about football. The coaching and administrative staff now need to work towards winning trophies.

— The preparation has been ongoing for some time. What has been achieved during this period and what are the plans for the future?

— Our first training camp is coming to an end. We have received a lot of information. It was important for us to understand what to focus on next. The preparation was planned to be somewhat simpler to gradually gain momentum. It will get more challenging from now on.

— Recently, the Champions League draw took place. How do you assess it for "Metalist 1925"?

— It's the Champions League — all the strong teams are there. We will prepare and fight. We have a task from the management. We will play only to win, no other way.

— We have a long and eventful season ahead. What are your expectations?

— We haven't thought about it yet, as we are fully focused on preparation. We have an upcoming training camp in Slovakia. Our goal is undoubtedly to win the championship and the Cup. We aim to do everything so that the girls not only win but also enjoy our game. It's a very interesting and long journey. We are ready for it!
