The Premier League is kicking off! Zhytomyr Football Club "Metalist 1925" starts the championship with an away match against "Polissya".

During the preparation period, the teams played several friendly matches. Nataliia Zinchenko's team was stronger in games against "Slovatsko" (2:1), "Banik Ostrava" (6:0), "Spartak Miyava" (3:0), and drew with "Austria" (1:1). On the other hand, the "She-Wolves" defeated "EMS-Podillia" (3:1), a team of free agents (8:0), were convincing in matches against "Ladomyr" (4:2, 2:1), and another meeting with the team from Volodymyr ended in a 1:1 draw.

Regarding the personnel changes in the opponent's team that occurred during the offseason. Four players from "Obolon", which ceased operations, joined the team: Viktoriia Seremchuk, Yana Boreiko, Veronika Holovanchuk, and Olha Voitenko. Left "Polissya": Vladyslava Porokhodnichenko, Yelizaveta Hirun, and Sabina Azizova.

Up to this day, these teams have only met once. The history of their rivalry began on August 21 last year. In the first stage of the previous championship, "Metalist 1925" celebrated a 5:0 victory in Zhytomyr.
