We want to play with possession, be on the ball, and press the opponent actively, but we didn't succeed much in that. After the break, we made adjustments, substitutions, and as you saw, the game changed drastically. We were pressing actively, didn't allow the opponent to create much, created our own chances, two of which we managed to convert. I am not satisfied with the first half, but the second - yes!
- What was the key to changing the course of events in the second half?
- I think the substitutions at halftime. They made adjustments to the game because we couldn't play the type of football we demand from the boys before that. Before the game, we also faced some personnel issues, some of the players I rely on were not registered for the season yet due to various documentary matters, which also played a role. It's good that we made certain adjustments during the break, and it worked.
- You have been leading the team for almost a month now, how successful have you been in conveying your demands to the players?
- It was tough in the first days. The team was testing me, and I was observing them as well. We still have players on trial, some are joining, some are leaving. Plus, there is a large group of players whom I didn't know at all before. We are getting to know each other, studying their positions, and possibilities on the field. Of course, my coaching staff has been very helpful in this. We are still in the process of building a strong team, which is a quite lengthy process, but we are eager to improve from game to game.
- The team currently has both senior players who played in the last two seasons in the Second League and a large group of Academy graduates. What tasks do you set for them?
- The first and most important goal for the youth team is to prepare players for the club's main team. Of course, I look at things realistically and understand that not all of them will make it there, but we will try. This transition from youth football to adult football is very important. We currently have boys aged 15-16 as well as older ones who are 19. The difference is noticeable, but the main thing is character. You can play well at the level of peers, but transitioning to the adult level is a very important step in their lives.
