The head of the sports medicine department of "Metalist 1925" Ivan Popov told about the surgeries of Ramik Gadzhiev and Ari Moura, as well as when to expect the return of the football players to the game:
- Please tell us about the current condition of Ari Moura and Ramik Gadzhiev?
- Both players have already undergone surgery and are in Ukraine. Ramik Gadzhiev underwent a complex surgery to restore the syndesmosis of the deltoid ligament and a fracture of the fibula. As for Ari Moura, he was diagnosed with a radial tear of the posterior medial meniscus. The arthroscopic surgery was successful, and the meniscus structure was restored.
- Where and how did the players undergo surgery?
- Ari and Ramik were operated on by leading German surgeons specializing in knee and ankle joint injuries. The surgeries took place in Munich, where the best conditions for treatment are created. I cannot but thank the club management and personally President Bohdan Boiko for the conditions provided to the players for their faster return to the team.
- How complex were these surgical interventions from a medical point of view?
- Of course, such surgeries are not simple. Both surgical interventions were performed at a high level by leading German surgeons specializing in knee and ankle joint injuries.
- What are the timelines for the players to return to the team? What steps need to be taken before returning to the football field?
- Unfortunately, both injuries are quite serious, so we expect Ari to recover in approximately 4 months, and Gadzhiev's return is planned a month later. Their recovery will be gradual under the supervision of the doctors and rehabilitation specialists of "Metalist 1925".
