Senior coach of "Metalist 1925" U19 Yevhen Nazarov summed up the away defeat to "Karpaty" in the 13th round of the youth championship:
— The final score is not very pleasant, what can you say about the match itself?
— The score turned out unpleasant. No one ever wants to lose. We warned that not everything might go well on the field, but to fight and move a lot both in attack and defense - is always necessary if the players want to progress. In the first half, things didn't go well for us, so we will carefully analyze it. The quality of play was somewhat better in the second half.
— Regarding the two own goals we conceded - do you consider them unfortunate incidents?
— As for the first goal, credit should be given to the opponent. There was a sharp pass, our defender was facing our own goal, he tried to stop the ball, but ended up slicing it into the net. And the second own goal - it was more of a coincidence.
— In your opinion, did the second own goal significantly affect the course of events? It seemed like the players came out in a positive mood for the second half.
— Yes, we wanted to turn the tide of the match. There were moments, the ball even hit the post once. You see, the U-19 team is created for players to gain game practice and develop, preparing for professional football. We always tune them to win. They should play at full strength from the beginning to the end of the match.
— The quality of the field today was clearly not the best. How did it affect the course of the match? Did you make any adjustments during the game, like playing more aerial balls?
— We did not consider playing more aerial balls. I always say that the field is the same for both teams, so the players must be able to adapt to its condition. Therefore, we have no complaints about the field.
