Our opponents returned from vacation on January 7 and started training at their academy base. Already on January 10, the Extraleague winners played their first home friendly, losing 1:2 to Czech team "Slovacko". A week later, WFC played a friendly match against "Slovan Liberec" - a 2:1 victory.
The gathering of "Tricolors" in Side started on January 22 and, like the Kharkiv club, will last until the end of this month. Last Sunday in Side, the "Heksarki" played their third friendly match, ending in a 1:1 draw with Kazakh team "BIK".
Regarding the latest team news: at this stage of preparation, 20 players are working, as several injured players stayed home, including the main goalkeeper and captain Kinga Severin. Two new players have joined the Polish team: Katerzhina Voytkova ("Slovacko") and Angela Milovanovich ("Crvena Zvezda").
A few days ago, the club also announced a record "out" transfer: 19-year-old Yagoda Tsyrianyak was called to strengthen "Marseille". There was also a change in the coaching staff - Roland Kovalchik replaced Grzegorz Zurek as assistant to Karolina Koch.
The first official game in 2026 for "Katowice" will be on February 14 away against "Slensy" from Wroclaw. It will be a match in the 1/8 finals of the Polish Cup. The next round in the Extraleague is scheduled for February 21-22. In matchday No. 12, the champions will face "Rekord" (Bielsko-Biala).
