Volodymyr Salyuk: "Sometimes you have to play a little bit like that"
Defender of "Metalist 1925" Volodymyr Salyuk in the flash commentary of UPL.TB told what was missing for a more convincing victory and an episode involving him that entered the history of Ukrainian football:
- Congratulations on the minimal victory. Despite the fact that the match was quite tense and the goal was scored right at the end. In your opinion, why were there chances in the first half but they were not utilized?
- Yes, we had enough chances in the first half. But they were half-chances. Somewhere we couldn't bring it all to a logical conclusion. Also, I believe that currently, it is very difficult to play combination football, and the forefront is taken by struggle and desire. There is a lot of fighting, long passes - it is difficult now to show what we trained for at the training camp.
- How do you comment on your yellow card? You practically made history, as it was your case that led to the first public VAR decision.
- I was the first on the ball, saw that the opponent was already making a move, but he left his leg. Sometimes you have to play like that a bit. It didn't work out today.
- What exactly didn't work out today?
- To earn a penalty. It happens, it's part of football.
