Natalia Zinchenko: "A goal scored in the first half could have changed everything"

Main coach of the women's team "Metalist 1925" Natalia Zinchenko commented on the result of today's meeting in Odessa:

— How do you sum up the draw with "Sisters"?

— Considering that we equalized at the end of the game, the result is positive for us, but not predictable. Throughout the game, we did not allow any moments near our goal, except for a corner kick that led to a penalty. At the moment when our defense played unreliably, essentially, we created an opportunity for them ourselves, but I wouldn't say that even this moment was decisive.

— Did the opponent play differently and manage to surprise after the last match?

— Yes, we expected the opponent to play in a low block, and it would be difficult for us to act in positional attack. They tightly closed the midfield, and the game through the flanks did not quite work for us. Everything could have changed with the goal scored in the first half, when we had three hundred percent chances, but it didn't work out. It's good that the girls didn't stop after the goal and equalized.

— Would you agree that the team outplayed the opponent, but lacked finishing?

— We work a lot on finishing in training, I think today uncertainty played a role. Unfortunately, we still don't have a winning mentality because we go into important games unsure of ourselves. We need to work a lot on this component.

— After the break in the championship, did "Sisters" become the most principled opponent? Could you feel this principledness in today's game?

— In the top five, all teams can put up a fight, and all games are principled. On April 4, we have a game in the Ukrainian Cup, and after the break for international matches of the national teams, we can expect a very interesting end to the Ukrainian championship. Thank you!
