Yevhen Nazarov: "There is movement and dedication, but sharpness is lacking upfront"

Senior coach of "Metalist 1925" U-19 Yevhen Nazarov commented on the match of his team against "Kolos" U-19:

- How do you assess the team's performance and what, in your opinion, was most lacking for a positive result?

- Overall, I can say that the team lacked finishing attacks. We reached the opponent's goal, tried to play combination football, used the flanks, but lacked sharpness just before the penalty area. That's why we couldn't score - we practically had only one truly dangerous moment with Kondratiuk's shot hitting the post.

At the same time, the opponent took advantage of their chance: a good pass was made, and we were a bit disorganized in the center of defense. I wouldn't say it was a gross mistake, but a slight lack of coordination led to the conceded goal.

Speaking in general terms, the team played the match at a decent level. In terms of commitment, movement, and work rate - this was probably one of our best games.

- The team played the first half quite evenly and ended it with a 0:0 score. What changed in the second half that led to the conceded goal?

- We started the second half quite actively, with our attacks. The opponent also didn't sit back in defense, as they were playing at home and aimed to win. In the end, one of their passes - a cross into our penalty area - proved decisive, and that was enough to concede.

- In your opinion, what did the team do well despite the result today?

- I don't just want to say that the team worked hard - after all, it's still a game. But we can note good movement, a decent level of competition, commitment. However, once again, there was a lack of creativity near the opponents' goal - that football invention that allows creating and converting chances.
