Senior coach of "Metalist 1925" U-19 Yevhen Nazarov shared his impressions after the match with "LNZ" U-19 (2:0):
- Please analyze the match.
- The game overall was not bad, especially in the first half we looked organized and created chances. But again, we conceded from a set piece - and this is a recurring issue. We analyze these episodes, work on them in training, but sometimes lack concentration and proper execution in the game.
In the second half, the team tried to come back, even when down to ten men actively pushed forward, created pressure, and looked for chances, but failed to convert them. The opponent played, perhaps, less brightly, but more effectively - they used their chances and achieved the result.
- How crucial was the red card in the 79th minute in your opinion?
- At that point, we were already losing 0:2, so I can't say that the sending off significantly affected the result. Of course, with equal numbers, we would have had more chances and options to get back into the game, but overall we were trying to come back even before that. It just became even more difficult, but that didn't determine the match.
- In your opinion, what was lacking for the team today to score and win?
- First of all - converting chances. We created them but didn't capitalize, and in football, that's a key factor. Also, there was a lack of discipline in defense, especially on set pieces - we can't allow the opponent to score regularly in such situations.
In summary, we need to better combine the quality of play with efficiency - both in attack and defense.
