Peter Ithodo: "It was a tough game"

The forward of "Metalist 1925" Peter Itodo commented on the match against "LNZ" on UPL TV, talked about the instructions from Mladen Bartulovich before coming on as a substitute, and shared thoughts on the top scorer race:

— There was a goal shootout today in Cherkasy, and you were one of the key figures in today's match. What was the mood, what were the thoughts of the team as you took the field today?

— It was a tough game. I was on the bench, watching the match, seeing everything. The weather was also very challenging. I had to come on, find space. Overall, my goal was just to come on and score. I did it.

— About your scored goal. Can we say that in this episode the coach perfectly guessed that you came on at that moment, not earlier or later?

— Before I came on the field, the coach called me and said that I just needed to come on and score, like, you don't need to do anything special, just score a goal. I took this advice, came on the field, and scored a goal.

— I would also like to know what happened to the "LNZ" goalkeeper in that episode where you scored your goal.

— In that episode, I scored with my right foot, and the opponent's goalkeeper hit my left leg with his face. After that collision, he got a minor facial injury.

— It's already the eighth goal in the championship for you. Can you say that you are ready to compete for the top scorer of this championship?

— I have to do it because I am a forward. We'll see, but I will fully commit to competing for it. First and foremost, I have to score and commit, and for now, we are moving from game to game. What will be in the end — we'll see.
