Carlos Paracho: "Grateful for the trust in me"

Venezuelan newcomer Carlos Paraco gave his first interview to the club's media, in which he recalled matches against the new team, communication with Castillo, and his goals for the season:

— Welcome to "Kharkiv". Tell us, when did our club show interest in you and how were the negotiations?

— First of all, I am happy to be here, grateful for the trust in me. This topic has been discussed for several months. My agent informed me about it, and I always had a positive attitude towards the opportunity to come here.

— What were the main reasons that made you decide to continue your career with "Kharkiv"?

— Honestly, since I have been living in Ukraine, I see that this is a very organized team, whose style of football I like. I think about my future and I know that I will make great progress in my career here.

— Another Venezuelan, Sebastian Castillo, is already playing in the team. Did you talk to him before signing the contract?

— Yes, I have known him for a long time. Since the interest in me arose, I talked to him. He told me how everything is arranged in the team, and we have been in constant contact.

— Who else from the players of our team have you had the opportunity to communicate with?

— When I visited Kyiv, I had dinner with Sebastian. There I met Arevale from Colombia, as well as Ari from Brazil.

— Last season you scored a goal against our team. Do you remember that match?

— I remember that it was my first goal for "Kryvbas". Honestly, "Metalist 1925" lost that time, but for me, the main thing was that it was my first goal in Ukraine.

— How close do you feel to the playing style of our team?

— Honestly, from what I have seen, I think I will fit well into the game in any position the coach puts me in. I think the team works very well with the ball, plays straightforwardly, and I always want to contribute to the team.

— You will play with the number ten. For many footballers, this is a special number. Why did you choose it and what does it mean to you?

— Honestly, I saw that this number was available, and I liked the idea. I know that it is a special number both in Ukraine and worldwide. I hope to represent it well and do my job effectively.

— Last season in the Ukrainian championship, you scored eight goals and provided three assists. What is your goal for this season?

— My goal is always to surpass myself. I want to score many more goals than last year and make many more assists.

— Who do you consider your main competitor for a place in the starting lineup?

— Honestly, I think it will be healthy competition. From what I have seen, there are good players here, like Castillo, and others. As long as everything is happening in a healthy atmosphere, each of us will contribute to the team.

— What would you like to say to the fans of "Kharkiv"?

— I am very happy to be here, it is a big step for me. And I want them to know: I will always give 100% for victories and to help the team.
