New contract of Kalyuzhnyi closes the way for Shakhtar to transfer
Journalist and insider Igor Burbas named the fundamental changes in the conditions of the new contract of midfielder and captain of FC "Kharkiv" Ivan Kalyuzhny in his Telegram channel.
It became known about the signing of a new agreement between Kalyuzhny and FC "Kharkiv" on July 4. According to Burbas, the old contract with the player stipulated a buyout clause of 3.5 million euros, which was supposed to increase to four million euros from July.
Donetsk's "Shakhtar" considered the option of using this clause, while Kharkiv's representatives saw Kryvyi Rih's Krivbas player Andrus Araujo as a potential replacement for the Venezuelan midfielder.
Now, there is no buyout clause in the agreement with Kalyuzhny, and the club does not plan to sell the player, making such moves impossible at the moment.
During his performances for "Metalist 1925" and FC "Kharkiv," 28-year-old Ivan Kalyuzhny played 58 official matches, scoring four goals and providing three assists. The new contract of the midfielder with the Kharkiv club will be valid until the summer of 2030.
