FC Kharkiv continues to actively work on strengthening the squad before the start of the new season.
One of the potential newcomers to Kharkiv could be 20-year-old Ghanaian winger from Red Star Belgrade Douglas Owusu.
According to Igor Burbas, Kharkiv were interested in the player last winter, but he chose to move to the Serbian giant at that time. However, the situation has changed now: Red Star Belgrade has not yet settled the payment with Radnik for this transfer and is ready to release the player if Kharkiv transfers the same 2.2 million euros to the Serbian club as agreed during the previous deal.
Currently, negotiations between the parties are in an active phase, and Owusu is considered one of the key newcomers to Mladen Bartulovich's team.
After moving to Red Star Belgrade in January 2026, the Ghanaian winger played 13 matches, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist.
Prior to that, Owusu represented Serbian club Radnik, where he played 54 matches in one and a half seasons, scoring 9 goals and providing 10 assists.
In addition to working on Owusu's transfer, Kharkiv is also finalizing the transfer of goalkeeper Georgiy Yermakov and the loan of defender Artem Smolyakov with an option for a permanent purchase.
