Young Boys goalkeeper: We hardly let Kharkiv out of defense

After defeating FC "Kharkiv" (2:0) in a friendly match, the goalkeeper of Swiss "Young Boys" Joel Mall shared his impressions of the game and evaluated his team's performance.

According to him, although the result in friendlies is not the main focus, the team aims to develop a winning mentality from the very beginning.

"The result is not the top priority, but we want to win every match, even if it's just a friendly game. A 2:0 victory is a good outcome, and our performance matched this result."

The goalkeeper noted that the team performed particularly well in the first half, despite intense physical training during the camp.

"Everyone's legs were heavy after a lot of training sessions, but we almost didn't allow the opponent to break through our defense, pressed well, and created a few more chances to score more goals."

He also positively assessed the team's defensive play, emphasizing that defensive interactions are gradually becoming automatic.

"Our defensive mechanisms are already working very well. There was good communication, we allowed the opponent to create very few chances. This is a good foundation to build on for the future."

The goalkeeper also talked about the training camp in Austria. According to him, although goalkeepers have a slightly different training program, they also work to their limits.

"Field players do more running work, while we focus more on jumps and explosive exercises. We have been working intensively for the past three weeks, so we also feel tired."

Finally, the footballer shared his impressions of the first training camp with the new team, highlighting the great atmosphere in the team and quick adaptation.

"There is a very good atmosphere in the team, with many wonderful people here. We are an international team, but after so many years abroad, I am especially pleased to speak Swiss German again. I think I have integrated well and look forward to the start of the season."

It is worth noting that in the friendly match that took place on July 5 in Austria, FC "Kharkiv" lost to Swiss "Young Boys" with a score of 0:2.
