Former defender of "Metalist 1925" (now - FC "Kharkiv") Maksym Zhychykov will continue his career at Lozova's "Avangard", which this season makes its debut at the professional level in the Second League.
The 33-year-old footballer has signed a one-year contract with the club. It is worth noting that Zhychykov previously defended the colors of "Metalist 1925" for five years and helped the team in the 2020/21 season to qualify for the Ukrainian Premier League for the first time in history.
Together with Zhychykov, 32-year-old defender Oleksandr Mihunov, who previously played for "Illichivets", "Dnipro-1" and "Kolos", also signed a contract with "Avangard".
At the same time, the club from the Kharkiv region retains two well-known veterans of Ukrainian football in its squad - former players of the Ukrainian national team Yevhen Selin and Oleksandr Gladky. Both have extended their contracts until the summer of 2027, and Gladky also holds the position of sports director of "Avangard".
Currently, the team under the leadership of Ihor Rakhayev is conducting a training camp in Kyiv and preparing for the start of the new season in the Second League. In a recent friendly match, the Lozova team lost to the capital's "Rebel" with a score of 1:2.
