The head coach of Veres, Oleg Shandruk, summed up the results of another microcycle of preparation for the start of the new season, at the end of which the team played two friendlies in one day. First, the "red-black" team played against the reserve team of "Polissya" (1:1), and then against Ternopil's "Niva" (1:1).
"The decision to play two matches in one day was made in advance taking into account that the players' workload should already be similar to the game rhythm. Although we have not reduced training loads yet, we considered it necessary to play so that the players could fully feel the match.
The preparation period is coming to an end, and we are already outlining the main lineup. We are looking and want to develop the connections that will solve tasks in the championship.
Today we received a lot of information because we played two really difficult matches in challenging weather conditions. Probably, this microcycle was the most difficult for the players, and we should now carefully analyze these two games with the coaching staff, the level of workload, and the players' actions.
They are currently continuing to work in the gym. So, we will rest, analyze everything, and make optimal decisions regarding the preparation for the final friendly match of the training camp with "Karpaty," - Shandruk said.
In the new season, Veres will start with an away match against Kharkiv, which will take place on August 1 and will start at 15:30 Kyiv time.
