Former Dynamo defender and Ukrainian national team player Serhiy Fedorov spoke about the position that needs to be introduced in Ukrainian teams.

– What do you see as the trend that our youth national teams are achieving... ?

– This should be worked on, I believe that... In other teams abroad, there are psychologists who work with the team. This should be discussed by specialists who... How does it feel after winning the World Cup?

– In Europe, this is a normal phenomenon, we almost don't have it. Your personal opinion: how much do we need such a person or several such people in teams?

– My opinion: definitely. I have been working on this for 10 years. They think it's not necessary. Every coach considers himself a psychologist and thinks that someone else, besides him, will know all the secrets. I think the coach is afraid of this.

– Competition?

– Yes – that this psychologist will know more than the coach.

– How to change this? How to convey this to coaches, to management?

– It takes time, probably. Because you see how it is perceived in our society. It used to be like: the main psychologist is someone's bartender. That's how it was. People came to the bar, drank, and the bartender was their psychologist.

Someone has to take this first step. Someone has to do it. And who will do it – that's the question. I think "Polissya" or "Kharkiv" will do it sooner than "Dynamo".

– Because they are more involved in progress now?
