FC Kharkiv defender Artem Smolyakov commented on the victory over "Veres" (1:0) in the 1st round of the UPL and his return to Ukraine from MLS, where he played for Los Angeles.
– Today we created many chances and were able to achieve what we wanted, so I am happy.
– I think I did quite well, strengthened the team, like every player who came on as a substitute. I am very happy for Ramik because I saw the injury he had. He came on, scored a goal – that's very cool. We have a good atmosphere, so we continue.
– Evaluate your debut, how were you accepted by the team? Did they give you any advice, maybe, or were you already giving advice to Ramik yourself?
– I guess I can already give advice to younger players. But they accepted me well. I knew quite a few guys, played against many of them. I actually need some time because I probably go to bed a little early and wake up a little early.
– There was also a massive attack on Kyiv today. How do you feel about such a contrast between life in the United States and in such Ukrainian realities?
– Yes, it's not very pleasant, but you have to get used to it. I slept like a log last night. It's a bit unusual after living for a year and a half without rockets, alarms, but nothing terrible, you have to work," Smolyakov said.
