How does the football club "Kharkiv" help the front and the army?

Helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine is one of the most important things for every Ukrainian today. UPL clubs actively support the military: they donate, invite veterans to perform symbolic first strikes before matches, and help the families of the fallen. This article collects the most famous examples of cooperation between "Kharkiv" (before the renaming - "Metalist 1925") and Ukrainian military.

"Kharkiv" and the 2nd Corps Khartya.

Even before renaming to FC "Kharkiv," the club managed to carry out one of the most vivid charitable initiatives of recent times - a special match with the 2nd Corps of the NGU "Khartya".

The right to hold this match was obtained by the club by winning a charity auction organized for the anniversary of "Khartya." The opportunity to organize the game was paid for 200 thousand US dollars, as reported by the club itself.

All funds raised were used to purchase a modern reconnaissance drone system Fly Eye 2.0 for units defending Kharkiv region. This system is used for aerial reconnaissance, detecting enemy positions, and adjusting artillery fire, so this assistance had a practical significance for the military.

It seems that this story is far from the last manifestation of the club's cooperation with "Khartya", as support for the military from the club began much earlier. Even before this initiative, the club regularly participated in fundraising for the needs of the Ukrainian army, helping with the provision of the military and supporting various charitable projects.

Another significant moment was when last season a fighter from the 13th brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Khartya" with the call sign "Monk" presented the new club kit. It was a clear message that the club associates its identity with the people who are defending Kharkiv and the whole of Ukraine today.

This interaction looked especially symbolic after the club's return to the Ukrainian Premier League. At that time, the "Khartya" military congratulated the team on returning to the elite of Ukrainian football.

Specifically, the club's mascot was named after "Khartya," as the winner of the contest for the story of Khartik told:

"I am very pleased that my version was liked. Since I have been following the club from the very first day of its creation and live in Kharkiv, I wanted to associate the mascot's name with our heroic city first of all.

Secondly, in this extremely difficult time for our city and the whole country, I wanted to somehow express gratitude to our warrior-defenders and glorious brigades. One of such brigades is "Khartya," which defends the borders of our region and country from the beginning of full-scale invasion. In it is a thank you to all defense forces and defenders of our city and region, namely: "Khartya," "92nd," "Kraken," TRO, and all others! So, I united Kharkiv and "Khartya" - and got Khartik."
