Yesterday the club announced a new stage in its development - "Metalist 1925" Kharkiv will now compete as the football club "Kharkiv".

This decision is the result of systematic work and club development over almost ten years. During this time, "Metalist 1925" has gone through a complex path of creation to preserve professional football in Kharkiv, establishment, formation of its own history, structure, and ambitions, and today it is at a point where further progress requires a clearer identity and positioning.

We have reached a moment where the next step in development must correspond to the real scale of the club and the tasks we set for ourselves as a club from Kharkiv. That is why the decision was made to rebrand - to partially change the club's name and transition to the name "Kharkiv" - as a model that opens up new opportunities for growth in both sporting and organizational and reputational dimensions.

The football club "Kharkiv" is a clear position: we represent the city, its people, its character, and its present. For us, this is a conscious choice and responsibility that the club takes on.

At the same time, it is crucial for us to preserve continuity. The history of "Metalist 1925" since 2016 remains the foundation of the club and an integral part of its identity. We continue this path, developing it in a new form.

Ahead of the club are ambitious goals in both sporting and strategic dimensions. We strive for stable development, building a strong competitive team, and representing Kharkiv at the highest level.

I want to emphasize separately: the football club "Kharkiv" is a place that unites people. Those who live in the city, who are connected to it, and who love Kharkiv, regardless of where they are today.

This is a balanced and strategic decision that opens up new opportunities for our development.
