Vice President of FC Kharkiv Yuriy Korotun shared how the club's rebranding is going.
Recently, the Kharkiv club, founded in 2016, changed its name from " Metalist 1925" to FC " Kharkiv". A club with this name existed before and played in the UPL, so some legal nuances had to be resolved. Korotun explained that work in this direction is actively ongoing.
"The logo will definitely be presented in Kharkiv, and there will soon be additions to the club's ambassadorial ranks. After the meetings or closer to the city day, we will organize a meeting with the fans in Kharkiv. Have the issues with FC Kharkiv been resolved? Yes, from a legal point of view, we are the same legal entity. We were accepted into the UPL with the new name half an hour ago. The term for FC Kharkiv expired many years ago," he said.
Last season, the Kharkiv team finished fifth in the UPL and also reached the semifinals of the Ukrainian Cup.
