FC "Kharkiv" has chosen a stadium for the new season

Vice President of FC "Kharkiv" Yuriy Korotun revealed where the team plans to play home matches in the upcoming season and explained why the club cannot return to its native city yet.

According to the official, the club's main stadium remains the arena in Zhytomyr.

"I really want to thank Zhytomyr and FC "Polissya" for their help and for welcoming us. Honestly, it was very comfortable to play matches there, there was great understanding with the club and stadium staff. There were no complaints at all.

My colleagues who deal more with operational issues all said that everything was top-notch in terms of match organization. We were happy to be there. For now, we also plan to participate in preparing the stadium in Zhytomyr for hosting games in the next championship. Our stadium in Zhytomyr is declared as the main one, so there are no changes at the moment," Korotun said.

At the same time, he admitted that the club regularly considers the possibility of returning matches to Kharkiv, but currently, security situation and organizational difficulties are hindering this.

"We think about it very often. Even when we played against Chernihiv, I think we considered the possibility of playing in the Cup semifinals. But before that, we sat down and looked at how many hours a day the air raid siren sounds in Kharkiv. At that time, it was from 8 to 12 hours.

We just sat there and realized that even if we go, it will be the first and last time any club came there. We will have to sit there for at least two days, and play for 15 minutes at best. And it will be the last time they allow us to play there.

Physically, they will be very happy to see us there. The stadium is ten times better prepared than the one in Poltava, but we can't do it. And if I'm not mistaken, there is only one hotel that can accommodate a UPL club. This is a problem we will face when we get permission.

So we must not forget that there are operational problems. And we really don't want to consider Poltava, because for us it's like Zhytomyr - what's the point of going there. If we go, it's only back home," added the vice president of Kharkiv.
