Ramik Hadzhiev shared whether work at the training camp differs from the mid-season training process.
Midfielder of the football club "Kharkiv" Ramik Hadzhiev has fully recovered from a serious injury and is preparing with the team for the start of the new season.
In an exclusive interview for RBC-Ukraine during the presentation of the club's updated brand, the footballer openly talked about the preparations for the training camp, the body's reaction to intense loads, and the ambitious European cup goals of the Kharkiv team.
- Ramik, you had a serious injury last season. You were out of the game since September and returned only at the end of the season. How do you feel now? How do you assess your condition?
- I am glad that I managed to return to the field towards the end of the season. It was an unfinished business for me. Morally, it became easier for me after that. I rested, recovered physically, worked on my injured leg during the break. I believe that after a good training process, everything will only get better and better.
- FC "Kharkiv" is already being talked about as one of the contenders for a place in the European cup zone at the end of the next season. Isn't it too early?
- I can say that I believe 100% in our club and our team. We will do everything necessary for this, we will play for the emblem, the fans, and of course, for our city. The result is a combination of factors. I know that we will be honest with ourselves if we give our all in the game. Of course, we set the highest goals because why play if you consider fourth place normal? We will all aim for the top positions.
"The end of the training camp is the most difficult".
- The team has a training camp ahead. There are footballers who perceive the camps normally, and there are those who do not like a lot of running work. Which group do you belong to?
- I see the training camp as an integral part of the training process. It is something necessary that must be mandatory. The most difficult part for me is the end of the training camp. When everyone is exhausted and wants to go home, see their loved ones. Probably, this is the hardest part.
- Have you ever been so exhausted during the camps that you almost lost consciousness? Because I heard stories that some players literally vomited from excessive loads during the camps.
- Well, that's generally normal, during the camps you lay the foundation for your physical form for the whole season. Of course, it's always tough there, it's not like training during the season. So, of course, some may not endure the initial period. And some go through it calmly.
- But you haven't experienced that yet?
- Well, to the point of feeling nauseous or fainting - no. Maybe it will happen now, we'll see.
