The women's team from Kharkiv, as the champion of Ukraine, had an unsuccessful start in the women's Champions League 2026/27.
In the semi-final match of the 2nd qualifying round, Kharkiv lost to Turkish Fenerbahçe (1:2).
The mini-tournament of four teams in the Q2 qualification is hosted at the Den Dreef stadium in the Belgian city of Leuven.
Viktoriya Hirin opened the scoring for Kharkiv in the 15th minute, but later the Ukrainian team conceded two goals and lost the match (1:2).
In the match for third place in the mini-tournament on August 8, Kharkiv will play against the loser of the pair Leuven (Belgium) - TSC Backa Topola (Serbia), who will play the semi-final in the evening of August 5.
The winner of the mini-tournament will advance to the next stage of the Champions League, while the teams finishing 2nd and 3rd will move to the Europa Cup (the second strongest European tournament).
