Today "Dynamo" will take a step towards the decisive round of the Conference League qualification

Today at 20:00 Kyiv time, "Dynamo" will play the first match of the third round of the Conference League qualification in Lublin (live broadcast on 2+2 and Kyivstar TV media service).

The opponent is the Azerbaijani football giant "Karabakh". They are a 12-time national champion and an 8-time winner of the Azerbaijan Cup. Both achievements are national records.

In the last season, "Karabakh" for only the second time in 13 seasons did not become the champion of Azerbaijan, losing the title to "Sabah". The previous slip-up happened five years ago ("Neftchi").

But in the 2025/26 season, "Karabakh" performed well in the Champions League, passing three qualifying rounds and defeating "Benfica", "Copenhagen", and "Eintracht" in the group stage, and drawing with "Chelsea". The Azerbaijani club advanced to the next stage, where they lost to "Newcastle", but it was a very strong European season.

In the summer, one of the main strikers of the club - winger Leandro Andrade - moved to "Polissya". And his former teammates, under the guidance of the unchanged coach Gurban Gurbanov for almost 20 years, qualified for the Europa League qualification of the 2026/27 season, defeating Icelandic "Vestri" (6:0 on aggregate in two matches), but lost to Bulgarian CSKA Sofia in a penalty shootout after two goalless draws.

Ukrainian winger Oleksiy Kashchuk starts his third season in "Karabakh". The 26-year-old player has scored 12 goals and made 13 assists in 76 matches for the Azerbaijani club's first team since the summer of 2024.
