22-year-old woman Zeynep Mestan has become the head coach of the Turkish men's club "Turgutluspor," as reported by the popular local publication Boşuna Tıklama.
The specialist has no experience working independently at either the women's or men's level. Previously, she only played women's football at an amateur level.
"Turgutluspor" itself competes in the amateur Super League of Turkish football.
In April 2026, for the first time in history, a female coach took charge of a top-5 league team - Mari-Louise Eta became the head coach of Berlin's "Union," but in May she returned to work with a women's team.
