On September 16, for the first time in the 2026/27 season, "Bukovyna" played at their home stadium, which was presented to the Chernivtsi fans after a massive renovation and reconstruction - in the 1/16 finals of the Beton Cup of Ukraine, the "yellow-blacks" hosted Cherkasy's "LNZ". Chernivtsi already faced this team in last year's cup tournament at the quarterfinal stage, defeating the opponent in a penalty shootout. This time, the "violets" managed to take revenge: the main time of the game ended in a goalless draw again, but in the penalty shootout, the Cherkasy team was more accurate, eventually securing a place in the next round. Now "Bukovyna" will fully focus on the matches of the Ukrainian Premier League, where after six rounds, Serhiy Shyshchenko's team is in 9th place in the standings. In the championship, the "yellow-blacks" suffered only one defeat, and our team also has one victory so far - over Kyiv's "Dynamo" with a score of 3:0. In four other matches, Chernivtsi played draws - and along with "Livyi Bereh," "Bukovyna" remains one of the most peaceful teams in the UPL. The game against FC "Kharkiv" will be the third for "Bukovyna" within seven days and will conclude the exhausting game schedule of the "yellow-blacks" before the international break for national team matches.

Mladen Bartulovich's team approaches the face-off with "Bukovyna" in excellent spirits. And no wonder, as in the last four matches, FC "Kharkiv" has achieved four victories with a total score of 19:0. On Wednesday, the "crimson-gold" team also played a match in the 1/16 of the Ukrainian Cup - the opponents of Kharkiv were "Prykarpattya-Blaho." In the match held in Ivano-Frankivsk, Baton Zabergdji and Ramik Hadzhiev's goals brought a 2:0 away victory to "Kharkiv." However, the previous UPL match involving Bartulovich's team did not take place - due to prolonged air alarms in Kryvyi Rih, the 6th round game against "Kryvbas" was postponed indefinitely. In the other five matches, Kharkiv achieved three "clean sheet" victories - over "Veres," "Zorya," and "Obolon," but also lost to the championship leaders - "Polissya" and "Shakhtar." Despite two defeats at the start of the season, as well as the canceled meeting with the Kryvyi Rih team, "Kharkiv" occupies a high fifth place in the table, having 9 points to their credit. By the way, "Bukovyna" is only two points behind the "crimson-gold" team - Chernivtsi have already earned seven points, adding even more significance to the Saturday duel.
History of confrontations.
"Bukovyna" has faced "Kharkiv," formerly known as "Metalist 1925," in four matches: twice the "yellow-blacks" faced the opponent in official matches, and the teams also played two friendly games. Chernivtsi and Kharkiv first met in a friendly match held in the summer of 2024 - the match ended in a goalless draw. The next friendly match also ended in a draw, but this time with goals - 2:2. However, in official meetings, the "crimson-gold" team emerged victorious twice, defeating Chernivtsi with the same score of 2:1 in the 2024/25 season.
