"United by the game": "Metalist 1925" and "Hartia" held a show match

Today, August 23, a unique football show match "United by the Game" took place at the Bannikov Stadium in Kyiv, organized by FC "Metalist 1925" together with the 13th NGU Brigade and the 2nd "Khartiya" Corps with the support of the Ukrainian Football Association.

Our club became the winner of a charity auction organized on the occasion of the anniversary of the "Khartiya" brigade and acquired the right to host this match for "200 thousand US dollars." All funds were directed towards the purchase of a modern unmanned aerial complex "Fly Eye 2.0" for units defending the Kharkiv region. The club also decided to give the right to play in the match to children from Kharkiv who have suffered from the war, so that they could feel joy, support, and unforgettable emotions.

Symbolically, the match took place on the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine and on the Day of the City of Kharkiv, specifically for the children of Kharkiv who have suffered from the war.

"For us, participating in this match was not just a sporting event, but an important mission. We won the right to host it at a charity auction, and all funds were directed to support the soldiers defending the Kharkiv region. But it was equally important for us to pass on this right to those who need joy and bright emotions the most today - the children of our region who have suffered from the war.

We sincerely sympathize with the children who have experienced such difficult trials, and we really wanted to give them a sense of celebration, the opportunity to see their favorite stars, and feel that they are remembered and cared for. We hope that this match has become a source of joy, inspiration, and unforgettable experiences for them, which will stay with them for a long time," - said the president of "Metalist 1925" Bohdan Boyko.

Children from Kharkiv who have suffered from the war played on the field alongside adults, and among the stars who supported the event were: Andriy Shevchenko, Sviatoslav Vakarchuk, Serhiy Zhadan, Vsevolod Kozhemiako, Daria Bilodid, Vladyslava Aleksiyeva, Myron Markevych, and Oleksandr Usyk.
