Mladen Bartulovich: "I consider it a deserved goal"

The head coach of "Metalist 1925" Mladen Bartulovich shared his impressions of the draw with "Dynamo" in the 8th round of the UPL on "UPL TV":

- Your team has not lost for the sixth match in a row, gaining points in matches against "Dynamo" and "Shakhtar". When this series started, could you have thought it would be so long?

-You always have to believe that you can make a series. The guys believed because there was one, then another, a good match with "Shakhtar," and it went on. Regarding today's match, I can say that the first half was not as we wanted. We need to act a little differently, but it's the credit of "Dynamo," which played very well after, I would say, 15 minutes. They pressed us and scored a goal. We made a lot of mistakes, so I am not satisfied with the first half. But in the second half, a completely different team came out, we talked to the guys, showed moments of how we can act differently. We scored, I believe, a deserved goal.

- These six matches without defeats, with victories and draws. Does this further inspire the team and you as a coach? Or perhaps there is still a moment when it presses from above, you want more, you want to win again...

-Look, we have a completely new team, many new players, a new coaching staff. Each victory gives us confidence, which is very important for us. I always emphasize to the guys that we must be hungry for victories, in every game we must work to win. This is how we tune in for each match, and this is how we will continue to work.

- What do you think is the basis of such a positive series of your team? What inspires the team, what is the main advantage?

-We work a lot in training, the guys work well and give their all. We have a good team that goes out and fights for each other. When I came, I emphasized that the most important thing is what our team will be like. I think we have a good team, so we achieve such results. Also, we have good footballers who can do what the coaching staff demands from them.

- Your team celebrated the first goal scored very emotionally. They immediately ran to you. Was the goal dedicated to you?

-Yes, they greeted me in the morning and said they would do something nice at the match. They scored this goal, I am very pleased, they are great. They showed good character in the second half and played well.
