Ukraine national team and Andriy Shevchenko supported the boys affected by the rocket attack in Poltava
"Why? We were just playing football..."
On June 20 in Poltava, a Russian shelling interrupted a normal day for four friends who were playing football. The boys suffered serious injuries: Bohdan and Andriy - shrapnel wounds to the abdomen, Ilya - leg injury, and Mykhailo - back injury.
President of the UAF Andriy Shevchenko and the players of the Ukrainian national team prepared a special surprise for the young footballers - a video message and customized jerseys. The highlight was the invitation for all four boys to attend a match of the Ukrainian national team after their rehabilitation.
The Ukrainian Football Association wishes the boys a speedy recovery. We look forward to seeing you in the stands!
