The Ukrainian Premier League championship is gaining momentum and today, on Friday, August 14, the third round of the elite division of our country will begin.

Journalist of the "Ukrainian Football" website Viktor Hlukhenkyi, as is already customary before the start of battles on the domestic fields, talked about them with an authoritative expert. This time - with the legend of Kharkiv's Metalist of the 80s - 90s, former midfielder of the Ukrainian national team Oleksandr Pryzetko. He analyzed all the upcoming matches and voiced his forecast for each of them.

"It's very difficult to start the season for LNZ...".

- The first two rounds did not delight us with sensations, and without them, it's a bit sad 🙂 But overall, the start was successful. There were interesting matches, mostly. What I would note is that it's very difficult for LNZ to start the season. The rest of the clubs showed results that were not entirely predictable, but expected.

August 14 (Friday). 18:00. Epicenter - Veres

Oleksandr Pryzetko: "Veres had difficult matches at the beginning of the championship - first FC Kharkiv (0:1), then Dynamo (1:2). Not the easiest opponents to start with, to put it mildly. Both matches Oleg Shandruk's team lost in the last minutes. If this did not break the Rivne team psychologically...

I find Epicenter's game more appealing. And in terms of player selection, the team coached by Serhiy Nahorniak is stronger. Therefore, I will give a slight advantage to the Kamianske team, which, in my opinion, will win with a score of 2:1".

In general, Patrick van Leeuwen has a quite quality team, especially when it comes to foreign players.

As for Livyi Bereh, I will honestly say that I like this club. The club itself. I like the systematic approach in their development, structure. However, in my opinion, the team is not very well equipped for the Premier League. It will be difficult for the Kyiv team against the team from Kryvyi Rih. My forecast is 2:0 in favor of the home team".

Oleksandr Pryzetko: "An even match. I can't give any advantage to either team in this match, but, in my opinion, Obolon is more cohesive than Kudrivka. And the Kyiv club has no problems with funding, unlike the team from Chernihiv. I read that they are not doing well financially.

Overall, although the season has just begun, this game is crucial in the struggle for survival in the UPL, in my opinion. I predict that the game will end with a score of 0:0".

Oleksandr Pryzetko: "Karpaty pleasantly surprised with the results at the start of the season, defeating Krivbas (4:1) and LNZ (3:0). It is clear that the Lviv team is on the move. But Bukovyna is also a tough team, so I think there will be a tough game in Lviv.

I will give a slight advantage to Lviv. They will be playing at home, and in terms of squad and player class, the "lions" look stronger. Therefore, I will bet on a minimal victory for the green and whites 1:0".

August 16 (Sunday). 13:00. LNZ - Chornomorets.

Oleksandr Pryzetko: "Two rounds have passed, and there are no results for LNZ. Moreover, the team has not scored a single goal, only earned one point... I am sure that this game will be given special attention in the Cherkasy team. They need to win at last - it is very important psychologically.

As for Chornomorets, there are questions about their game... Yes, the team of Roman Hryhorchuk played only one match and lost to Polissya, but... I will bet on LNZ. I think everything will end with a score of 2:0 in their favor".

This was confirmed by the two previous matches of Mladen Bartulovich's team (victory over Veres 1:0, defeat to Polissya 1:3 - ed. V. H.).

There are no visible problems for Shakhtar, at least for now. I don't think FC Kharkiv will be able to take points from the Donetsk team, considering how they played against Polissya. I think the score will be 2:0 in favor of the "miners".
