Polissya, LNZ, FC Kharkiv, and Karpaty will not be able to compete with Shakhtar: Ponomariov named the main reason
The mentor of LNZ Vitaliy Ponomariov explained why Ukrainian clubs are inferior to Shakhtar and why it will be difficult for them to compete with the Donetsk team throughout the season.
The head coach of Cherkasy LNZ Vitaliy Ponomariov believes that no Ukrainian team can currently compete with Shakhtar over a long distance.
"Today, in my opinion, no one can. I'll explain why. It's very good that Polissya Zhytomyr, FC Kharkiv, Karpaty, LNZ are making some steps. But currently, all these clubs significantly lag behind Shakhtar not in terms of team level, but in terms of organization of work, club organization, level of players they buy. Therefore, it will be difficult today," Ponomariov said to the LNZ press service.
The specialist notes that it is possible to win individual matches against Arda Turan's team, but in the long run, Shakhtar still wins the battle against any Ukrainian club.
"Perhaps you can win the championship, you can win a match. Last year, we also didn't lose to Shakhtar in any of the three matches. But in the long run, in my opinion, it will be difficult to compete with Shakhtar."
