"This is a great happiness that the team was away": Belanov on the strike at Chornomorets' base

On August 7, the stadium "Chornomorets" was seriously damaged, and on the morning of August 22, the club base of the "sailors" team in Sovinyon was destroyed. The attacks of the Russian Federation, whose main goal is terrorizing the population of Ukraine, did not leave anyone indifferent in the country.

The owner of the "Golden Ball" of 1986, former forward of "Chornomorets", Kyiv's "Dynamo" and the USSR national team, Igor Belanov, did not hide his outrage at the cynical actions of the cruel Russian nationalists in an interview with Sport.ua.

– How is this even possible? Attacking sports facilities is simply incomprehensible. It's unclear what is happening in life. It's just horror. A deadly weapon is constantly flying over Ukraine. Recently, I was in Kyiv - the capital is full of buildings damaged by missile and shelling attacks. Odessa was attacked again, it continued that night, and then the whole day - until evening. Every day - the same thing. Innocent people die every day - children, women, elderly people. The aggressor's audacity knows no bounds, and we have been feeling all this for more than a month now. The "Chornomorets" stadium had not yet been "patched up" after the recent attack, when the same fate befell the "sailors" training base. It's a great relief that the team was away at the time of the "landing."

– How did you find out about the strike on the club base?

– I read about it on Facebook in the morning - and I was shocked. What else can be said: these are scoundrels, vipers.
