Matches of the UPL interrupted for a long time by the threat of an air attack: decision-making algorithm

At the end of August, the number and duration of air alarms significantly increased in many regions of Ukraine. This directly affects the integrity of conducting football matches in Ukraine and organizing television broadcasts. At the same time, it raises questions about the logic of decision-making regarding the completion of matches interrupted by air alarm signals that last for a long period of time.

All competition participants are guided by the regulations and a special regulatory document called "Additional Safety Measures for the Organization and Conduct of Football Matches in Ukraine in Conditions of Martial Law."

It is provided that in case the duration of the air alarm exceeds 60 minutes, a meeting is held with the participation of the UAF delegate, the main referee, team representatives, and a representative of the respective regional/city military administration (if present).

In case of two or more air alarms with a total duration of over two hours, the UAF delegate has the right, at the request of one of the participating teams, to initiate a meeting.

A decision regarding the further fate of the match is made at the meeting and recorded in the corresponding Decision Form.

After that, the UPL Directorate makes a decision regarding the place, date, and time of conducting/completing the match.
