Former forward of the Ukrainian national team Ivan Hetsko exclusively for "UF" gave a forecast for the matches of the 5th round of the UPL, assessing the chances of Dynamo, Shakhtar, and other teams.
On Friday, September 4, the fifth round of the Ukrainian Premier League will begin.

This time - with the former forward of the Ukrainian national team, the author of the first goal of the blue-yellow team in history - Ivan Hetsko.

- Well, but first I would like to say that I am very pleasantly surprised that we now have good competition in our championship. Because what was it like for the last 20 years? Only two teams fought for the first place - Dynamo and Shakhtar. Now we see that Kyiv and Donetsk have worthy opposition. And that's great.
September 4. 13:00. Chornomorets - Livyi Bereh
Ivan Hetsko: "I don't see a clear favorite in this game. Today these are two teams of the same level, fighting for survival. In the last round, both Odessa and Kyiv played quite well: the former defeated Kryvbas, the latter took points from Karpaty, who had not lost any points at the start of the season. Chornomorets, to be honest, was a bit lucky in the game against Kryvbas, in my opinion, but...
In this match, I think it will end in a productive draw 1:1."
September 4. 18:00. Polissya - Kudrivka
Ivan Hetsko: "With all due respect to Kudrivka, which can show teeth, in this match the favorite is clear - it's Polissya. Ruslan Rotan's team is currently in good form, on the go. And in excellent psychological condition, because in the previous round they defeated Shakhtar and showed that they should be reckoned with. Polissya didn't quite succeed last season, but this season, I think they will show a much better final result.
As for the forecast... You know, I don't exclude that there will be many goals scored and Polissya will win by two or more goals, with a score of 3:0 or 3:1."
September 5. 13:00. Kryvbas - Kolos
Ivan Hetsko: "Kryvbas needs a victory because they started the season not very confidently, despite having good players in the team and a competent coach [Patrick van Leeuwen]. For example, in the previous round, Kryvbas was unlucky against Chornomorets.
I think Kryvbas should beat Kolos. I bet that the score will be 2:0 or 2:1 in favor of the home team."
September 5. 13:00. FC Kharkiv - Obolon
Ivan Hetsko: "Obolon has not scored in the new season yet, and there are serious doubts that they will score against Kharkiv this weekend 🙂 The Kyiv team is struggling: they don't score, they hardly create chances, while Kharkiv looks very good. I think that at home, even formally, Mladen Bartulovich's team will not miss the opportunity to win. My forecast for the game is 2:0 in favor of Kharkiv."

If the Lviv players tune in properly against Shakhtar, and I have no doubt that they will be highly motivated, they are capable of taking points from the current champion. If Karpaty fight but lose to Shakhtar, I think no one will particularly criticize them for it, but if they win, they will be celebrated.
As for the forecast for the match, I will still give preference to Karpaty and bet that they will win with a score of 2:1. It would be good for the intrigue in the championship if the "lions" win."

Ivan Hetsko: "Dynamo currently has huge problems: in attack, defense, midfield, and at the back - in all lines. Everyone is harshly criticizing Kyivans. It seems like they create chances but can't convert them. And they also have no luck... it seems like some curse has been placed on Dynamo. It's not working for them! First of all, I think they need to improve the microclimate in Dynamo. And shake up the team, inject fresh blood, pick up quality newcomers.
Be that as it may, in this match, I will still give preference to Dynamo. I bet that Kyivans will win by one goal."

Ivan Hetsko: "This match could go either way. Bukovyna is currently experiencing a strong psychological uplift after defeating Dynamo (3:0), but whether the Chernivtsi team will continue their confident winning streak is hard for me to say... At home, with the support of their fans, Bukovyna plays well, but away things are not going so well for them.
Epitsentr is a very good team, I like them for their style of play. I will bet on the victory of Serhiy Nahorniak's team with a minimal score of 1:0."
