Rotan: "We have acquired one of the most promising goalkeepers in Ukraine"
The head coach of Zhytomyr's Polissya Ruslan Rotan reacted to the transfer of talented 19-year-old goalkeeper Nazar Makarenko from Olexandriya.
"We indeed loaned Georgiy Bushchan to Dynamo for one year and acquired young Makarenko from Olexandriya. Thanks to our president for this. Now the team has a balance of experience and youth.
I believe that he is one of the most promising goalkeepers in Ukraine who can become the future of Ukrainian football. I am confident that this transfer will add balance to our goalkeeping position," said Rotan.
In the current season, the goalkeeper played three matches for the city's second team, conceding five goals and keeping a clean sheet once.
Makarenko has three appearances for the Ukrainian U-19 national team. The goalkeeper's transfer value is 500 thousand euros.
