Ukraine national team application for the match against Hungary
The Ukrainian national football team has announced a squad of 23 players for their debut official match in history against Hungary within the UEFA Nations League season 2026/27.
Goalkeepers: Georgiy Yermakov, Anatoliy Trubin, Dmytro Riznyk.
Defenders: Illya Kryvtskiy, Eduard Sarapiy, Valeriy Bondar, Oleksandr Drambayev, Illya Zabarnyi, Vitaliy Mykolenko, Mykola Matviyenko.
Midfielders: Vladimir Brazhko, Andriy Yarmolenko, Georgiy Sudakov, Maksym Khlan, Oleksandr Nazarenko, Oleg Ocheretko, Yehor Nazaryna.
Forwards: Ihor Krasnopyr, Vladyslav Vanat, Danylo Sikan, Viktor Tsyhankov, Oleksandr Zubkov, Matviy Ponomarenko.
Seven performers were left out of the final list: defenders Bohdan Mykhailichenko and Taras Mykhavko, midfielders Mykola Shaparenko, Ivan Varfolomyev, Oleksandr Pikhalyonok, and Vladyslav Velyten, as well as forward Roman Yaremchuk.
This match holds a special historical significance as the teams have only met twice before in friendly matches in 1992 (a 1-3 defeat in Uzhhorod in the debut game in the history of independent Ukrainian national team and a 1-2 defeat away). Now the blue and yellows have a great opportunity to take a historical revenge and earn their first official points in the confrontation with the Hungarians.
