Mladen Bartulovich: "This match should be a lesson for us"

The head coach of "Kharkiv" Mladen Bartulovich analyzed the defeat against "Polissya" live on UPL TV:

— Mladen, today's defeat. It is clear that this was a match that attracted a lot of attention. Defeat in such a match is definitely painful, but what were your first, hottest emotions after 90 minutes of football against "Polissya"?

— First of all, congratulations to the opponents on their victory. Today everything worked out for them. They used all their chances and even half-chances. The first goal, you could say, was a half-chance. A shot went in, and it broke our game plan and the game as a whole. I can now say that we dominated, had more possession, but the score is 1:3. This match should be a lesson for us to learn from and move on. It's only the second round, and there are still many matches ahead.

— In several moments, we saw situations where the "Polissya" wingers were dribbling one-on-one, which they do very well. Today they had the opportunity to demonstrate this. In particular, this led to goals. Are these individual mistakes or some systemic issues that need to be corrected? What is your initial diagnosis?

— Regarding the first goal, we emphasized to the guys that "Polissya" delivers many crosses, especially from Veletnya's right foot, but this time he scored from the left. It was a moment where we didn't necessarily have to concede. But we did, and it disrupted the flow of the game and the match plan, as I mentioned earlier. The second goal came after a set-piece play, followed by a situation where they outplayed us 3 on 2 and scored another goal. Of course, it's very difficult to play against a skilled team after that.
