Georgiy Yermakov: "Lack of quality in building the game in the third zone"

Kharkiv goalkeeper Georgiy Yermakov summed up the lost match against "Polissya" in the second round of the UPL:

— There was a certain principled approach, but at the same time there was serious preparation for a serious opponent with a high level of performers and a high level of tactical game construction. We knew this and were prepared.

— In your opinion, what exactly didn't work out? Was it one phase or several? Why couldn't you at least secure one point today?

— Good question. I will try to answer right away, but there are a bit more emotions now than there might be constructiveness. To analyze in detail, we need to watch the video again. But I think we lacked quality in game construction specifically in the third zone to create more chances. They were there, but we wanted more opportunities to increase our advantage. After conceding a goal, we started to control the ball more, which was logical, as the opponent started to play for the score and gave us a bit more space in the deep phase. We wanted to create as much as possible, be more present in the third zone, and have more goal-scoring opportunities.

— I watched the replay of Bragar's shot several times, and in my opinion, it's definitely not the kind of goal to question the goalkeeper. Have you seen the replay? What is your assessment of this episode?

— He had a good shot with his non-dominant foot. I haven't watched the replay yet, but from how it looked in the game, he positioned himself well for the shot between our defenders. I will watch, analyze, and figure out what could have been done better.
