Expanding the geography of the Ukrainian Premier League is being considered at the House of Football!
According to journalist Ihor Burbas, the UAF is considering the option of temporarily issuing certificates to three new regions to hold matches of the elite division in new arenas:
1️⃣ Bukovyna. The stadium in Chernivtsi is actively working on lighting, but matches can be held during the day. The arena has already successfully passed the inspection during the 1/16 finals of the Ukrainian Cup.
2️⃣ Zakarpattia. There are two stadiums here - in Uzhhorod and Mynai. There is no lighting, and the Uzhhorod arena does not have a heating system, but it is quite possible to hold UPL matches there before the cold weather sets in. By the way, the Uzhhorod stadium is currently home to the first league team "Metalist".
3️⃣ Volyn. The local stadium recently passed an inspection, but its current condition still leaves much to be desired.
Let's also mention Ternopil - the local arena already has the appropriate certificate and is fully ready to host matches at the UPL level.
