Mykola Pavlov: "I accepted an offer from another club to resume practical work without breaking my word that I had finished my coaching career"

Now the former honorary president of FC Livyi Bereh Mykola Pavlov talks about his work at the Kyiv club and the path he has traveled with it.

"Dear friends!

10 years ago, I heard an interesting idea and got excited about it. My closest assistant Anatoliy Buznyk and the well-known coach Oleg Fedorchuk told me that a huge area, several microdistricts with hundreds of thousands of residents, did not have its own large academy or a professional football club. And there are many children here, and for these capital talents, getting into big football is no easier than for residents of even quite remote regions."

From Buznyk, I heard that a well-known Ukrainian businessman, football official Mykola Lavrenko, wanted to create conditions for the district of Kyiv where he lived. So fate brought us all together, and FC Livyi Bereh was born. The All-Ukrainian Association of Football Coaches, which I was heading at the time, became one of the club's co-founders and did everything in its power to make its modest contribution to the very emergence of this club.

This is a happy football story because it has received its worthy realization, Lavrenko has built beautiful stadiums, arenas, football fields, created an academy, the first club team made it to the UPL for the second time. For me, it is a moment of pride for the cause to which I have devoted my knowledge, support, and enthusiasm. I am pleased that Livyi Bereh as a microdistrict has received such an infrastructure miracle, and now young talents from here will have the opportunity not to go through such a difficult path as, for example, me and my peers from DVRS, in my 60s and 70s."

Mykola Lavrenko is a person who supports football, including those clubs that have found themselves in a difficult situation due to full-scale invasions and infrastructure shelling. You know that many football teams had the opportunity to play their official matches at the Livyi Bereh sports complex, and for those of them, like Metalist 1925 (Kharkiv), who were forced to be outside their hometown, it was an important experience of football brotherhood and mutual support. I appreciate that Mykola Mykolayovych, by building such

infrastructure, helps other football clubs, provides his stadiums and hospitality. This is an important and undoubtedly good deed for our Ukrainian sport. Working as the honorary president of FC Livyi Bereh (Kyiv), I have met wonderful friends, colleagues, good people in the club during this time. Certainly, I wish the club success and I am glad that this summer it has taken such a significant step in its development. I accepted an offer from another club to resume practical work without breaking my word that I had finished my coaching career. So in the future, we will also intersect with Livyi Bereh, already in regular calendar competitions, because the world of football is limitless and at the same time close."
