"Obolon" asked for clarification regarding the refereeing of the match against "Kharkiv"

"Obolon" officially appealed to the President of the Ukrainian Premier League Yevhen Dyky and the Head of the UAF Arbitration Committee Kateryna Monzul requesting a professional and objective assessment of the actions of the main referee Oleksiy Derevinsky and VAR referee Denys Reznikov during the 5th round match of the 2026/27 UPL season between "Kharkiv" and "Obolon", which took place on September 5 at the "Arena Left Bank".

Following the match, the club drew attention to a number of episodes that, in the opinion of "Obolon", require detailed review and official explanations:

Episode #1:

On the 17th minute, Yevhen Pavlyuk (No. 18, "Kharkiv") stepped on the foot of Oleg Slobodyan (No. 10, "Obolon") - no yellow card was shown.

On the 39th minute, Taras Moroz (No. 4, "Obolon") in a similar episode stepped on the foot of Yevhen Pavlyuk - this time the referee showed a yellow card.

Episode #2:

On the 27th minute, Maksym Chekh (No. 6, "Obolon") received a yellow card for a tackle on Artem Smolyakov (No. 29, "Kharkiv").

At the same time, on the 42nd minute, Ramik Hadzhiev (No. 14, "Kharkiv") in a similar episode kicked Maksym Chekh - this time no yellow card was shown.

Episode #3:

The club paid special attention to the episode with the goal scored after a corner kick (82nd minute), where, in the opinion of "Obolon", several controversial moments arose.

The club points out the position of the main referee, which could limit the ability to control all the struggles in the penalty area.

During the episode, Kharkiv player No. 16 Nicolas Arevalo stepped on the foot of Denys Ustymenko (No. 9, "Obolon"), after which the forward ended up on the pitch. "Obolon" believes that this moment requires a separate assessment by the referees and VAR.

Another question remains regarding the decision not to count the goal. In the club's opinion, Taras Moroz (No. 4, "Obolon") did not obstruct Kharkiv goalkeeper Georgiy Yermakov (No. 1) and did not limit his ability to play the ball.

"Obolon" expects official explanations. In its appeal, the club requests an official assessment of the actions of Oleksiy Derevinsky and Denys Reznikov in the mentioned episodes, to inform whether the decisions taken corresponded to the Rules of the game and the current criteria for the work of referees and VAR, and to provide a professional analysis of each of the moments.

"In case of errors, the club requests to indicate which decisions were incorrect and for what reasons," the club's appeal says.
